Yes I know. Most of your impeller blades for many turbo manufacturers are cast at Atlantic casting by me. I have known them for most of my life. They make a great product. Not sure what machining them out of billet will gain you.
after all, Americans always prefer everything big , their horses are also always bigger than European ones, but only on paper.
I'm not sure about this statement, tt/rs.Are you slinging mud at us
Here's my interpretation of automotive evolution:
As the car developed, it was adapted to the road profile it was being used for. Since Europe is mostly mountainous, it makes sense that cars like Porsche's and Ferrari's would come to represent the euro hot rods.
Over here in the states, things are different. We have lots of flat land which enabled roads to be laid out in a grid pattern. So, what do you do if you have no corners to carve? You go very fast in a straight line. Drag racing was created and evolved. We don't have narrow, ancient streets to navigate so our cars car be bigger.
Found my old photo from the 90's. I basically took a theft recover 94 Speedster added G50-52 low gear transmission, Cams, Headers and Garrett 800 CFM T04-S #11 split Valoute Hot Housing and V-band clamp, From David Raines. ---- Correction on my post here. Found the receipt.

The Raptor turbo improves driveability - not supposed to make [much?] more power. I've been running one for a year now (about 6,000 miles last year). I took several drives for me to get behind it fully - but now will say I do really like it. It does build boost a little sooner and is more linear - but yes the turbo kick is reduced. But it's more responsive on canyon roads - coming out of tighter curves its pulling better sooner. It's not like a black and white comparison to stock - it's small but good changes IMO. Keep in mind I'm at 5000+ elevation so it may be different if you're closer to sea level - performance differences may feel different - I guess I'll see in September when I drive to Rennsport Reunion. If you're just looking to make big power not sure it's the right direction...
It's not worse spool in my car but YMMV. Also have a local 930 and another 964T running that turbo - all since last spring with a several thousand miles. We all love the turbo on the road, driving. What exhaust are you running?
But we're not trying to have the most powerful car (in reality or on paper or on a dyno) or drag race. We drive lots of curvy roads up at elevation.
I can sum it up like this: if you need to rebuild your old turbo then you can do a raptor modification. Don't expect any improvement I think that everyone recommends them because it does not require any tuning of the fuel because as I mentioned, the turbo does not change anything....
