I have recently been having problems engaging gears, the gears engage but require slight effort. I bled the system, checked master and slave and all were fine, checked bushings and all fine, found the split pin had broken, replaced this but still the same problem changing through the gears
I then removed the plywood board located in the pedal assembly area and the gears were much better
Gear changes are now getting a little difficult again so decided to have a look at the clutch pedal assembly to find this
Surely this is not normal, seems like the clutch pedal is bent, what causes this to happen
You appear to be missing the clutch pedal rest against the tunnel (have you just removed it while trying to get the clutch working better?), and the clutch pedal itself is bent way, way over towards the tunnel. It *should* be angled towards the tunnel slightly, but not to that extent.
Here, I've just taken a picture of mine with a ruler mounted above both pedals to give you an indication of the alignment/spacing:
Interesting that Porsche had to add a dead pedal to RHD cars, but it makes sense. On the LHD cars, the wheelhouse protruding into the footwell acts as the dead pedal.

Yes, on the rhd cars the pedal/wheel alignment isn't what you would call perfect. I am used to it, but it's definitely noticeably off-centre when you go from a purpose designed rhd car to the 964; you definitely get the feel that your legs and arms are not aligned exactly as they should be.
Yes my car is a uk RHD, I removed the ply wood panel which the rest is fitted to.
Its a low mileage car
On removing the ply wood panel I am able to go through the gears
I will measure mine tomorrow with a ruler and compare, but when I removed the pedal cluster to replace the pin, the cluster had split at the bottom and had to be welded, I then removed all the pedals, fitted new bushes and pins but did notice the clutch pedal was sitting lower than the brake pedal, like the metal at the pivot point of the clutch pedal had twisted
