The 1991/1992 cars are identical and really 92 as such means nothing from price premium point of view,as they are the exact same cars. Now 1994 3.6 is a different car as compared to 3.3 Turbo, however one thing for sure there's definately a strong following of " flared fenders & a whale tail " including myself
Knowing what i know now about the 964's,my next choice will definately be a 993 TT or even a 996 TT.Paying mid 50's for a stock C2 turbo is kinda pricey but then hey it is low mileage car and if you can afford one why not One thing for sure it will be pretty difficult to sell it at that price but knowing Straight 6 he might keep it for few years, after all it's his second C2T.

Y.S, I just know I shouldn't be doing this, but why is it that knowing what you now know, your next car will be a 993 or 996 TT? (I see the lid popping off the top of the can and the worm flying out...)

What are three things that one should look for when buying a house, isn't it,Location, location and location.Same thing about buying a Porsche, buy the newest you can afford as Porsche keeps improving the previous models.
Now don't take me wrong,i personally love the C2 Turbo and thats why i bought one but one thing for sure,993 TT is definately a better car than a 964 Turbo.
Things i don't like about my C2T:
1)-A/C works fine but not as good as a 996 TT ( not that it matters )
2)-Power delivery is not as smooth say as a 993TT or a 996 TT ( for me its a big negative thing in my 964 Turbo )
3)-Suspension i have read is better in a 993 TT as well.
4)-I personally would have preferred an AWD where as a purest would ratter have a RWD.
Things i love about my C2 Turbo:
The body style, the body style and the body style.
I guess i was very nervous moving into Porsches but now that i have ( C2 Turbo ) i want to buy a 993 TT as again i think, nothing like having some comfort along with 400 AWD HP Also the tunning capability of a 993 TT is far better than a 964 T.
Anyway what ever i have said is all my personal opinion. It seems like for me ,a 993 TT is the way to go but the problem is,i just can't get over the C2 Turbo body style.

Whats not to like about the 993TT and 996TT, more HP, torque, no turbo lag, better handling and as good if not better reliability.

I love my car but I would trade it in a second for a 993TT.

Ian,
No offense taken at all, simply 2 different schools of thought...
The bottom line is that I believe that you get what you pay for. I got a totally stock low mile car, which is exactly what I wanted. I did not want to deal with someone else's headache. All books, records and history etc. The car is like new inside and out. In addition, I am not doing this with the thought of reselling the car...
Also, there were some differences between the '91 and '92... For example,
limited slip came standard on all '92's and was an option on '91's. '92's all came with full leather dash, and my car has leather door pannels as well. I guess that was part of the supple leather option that the car also has...

David

Ps. I would't trade my car for a 993TT or a 996TT! To me 965's are the only way to go for many reasons... The more modern turbos just lack that feel, sound, smell that is Porsche. Not to mention that the 964/5's are just built much better. (it's all in the door slam!) Again, just one man's opinion...

My basis of comparison is my list of 911's: '89 carrera coupe, '95 993,
'96 c4s, '92 c2 turbo, '98 c2s, and '99 996 cab... All of these were just nice cars, however my 965's give me chills!!!!!!!!!!!!

Straight6,

Couldn't agree more. Y.S, I'm one of the old guys in the group and have owned and driven a boatload of cars. Newer only means better in terms of creature comforts and the like. I could have bought a 993TT, but chose the 3.6T because it was the better car for me. I don't like the 4 wheel drive cars and although I like the 993 better than the plasticky 996TT/Lexus-like cars being made now. The 3.6 has the lightness of a real Porsche and the quality is so much higher in terms of build and materials.

Strait6: That makes sense to me now as you are not planning on selling your car anytime in the near future. You did pay a premium for a low miles stock car but thats what you wanted.

I guess I just come from a different view point as I am just lucky to be owning a porsche at all considering my fiance and I are living with her parents and money is very tight

Y.S,

I saw the announcement, but haven't signed up yet. I live near Bethlehem, PA, so I will probably go. When is it? (The new turbo should be in by end of next week... Couple of dyno runs and I'll be there.) I drive the 3.6 when there's sunshine as a daily driver, so I better polish it up a bit... ;-)
