Default Part needed

Hi everyone,

I am trying to track down this part: 96457204101. It is the hot air tube that runs inside the rocker panel of a 964 (mine is a 92’ turbo). I needed 2 and was able to source 1 through porsche. Apparently they only had one in the entire world which is now in my car. We’ve been on the hunt for another (LA dismantlers, DC automotive, etc) with no success. I’ve also tried the guy on ebay who sells all of Singers donor car parts with no luck.

Any ideas on where to source them?

Sunset seems to indicate it's available.
Not true?

No, not true. I think most of these guys do not have inventory systems synched with Porsche. They need to call and confirm availability. I purchased the last new one from Porsche Reno. My shop found one (used) today through DC automotive (we thought maybe the trail was dead as they sent us an incorrect one from a 993 a couple of weeks ago - this has a different fastener at the end). I also found a used one today at Einmalig as well as a new one at Design911 in the UK (UK and EU inventory systems are not available to US dealerships).

It's amazing that this seems like a part that no one ever replaces especially since there is no modern air filtration in these cars. Nonetheless the new ones as well as the incorrect used one we have smell like roses next to my old ones. Also had the HVAC suitcase dismantled and cleaned (not nearly as nasty as the tubes). Looking forward to getting the car back and writing a post about it. It really underscores the risk of not properly preparing a car for extended storage as well as what to look for a the first sign of rodents in the car. I am confident that the problem is now rectified which is the most important thing.

I will say that the tubes apparently came out relatively easily according to my shop. Putting them back was a little tricky and I'm sure the bill will reflect that.
