WTB: 3.3 Cat bi-pass
Anybody have a used cat bi-pass for my 1991 turbo?
Im feeling frisky and want to explore the exhaust flow and sound of the car.

hmmm, I thought there were two CATs on our cars,... but I could be wrong. I have all the original exhaust system from my car, and I know I have a CAT (on the shelf) that was given to me with all that equipment,... & then years later, I also know that I pulled the Wastegate CAT off when I put a Fabspeed bypass just after the wastegate. Hence the reason I thought there were two.
I also have several cars too,... so I start to meld & confuse things together in my mind. I know my 2010 997.2 GT3 has two CATs, one on each side.
I've never had the original exhaust on my car,... that's why I'm a bit fuzzy. I'm the Guru's will chime in

I have the stock exhaust on the shelf from another turbo.
i just ordered a FVD cat delete and I found a G pipe from a fellow rennlister. Looking to make some noise and enjoy the car like a teenager.

correction, my car currently already had a Fabspeed cat delete! So i didnt need to buy a FVD cat delete!
With just the fabspeed cat delete the car certainly has a nice growl under hard acceleration.
When you add the FVD G pipe, the car certainly idles more like a muscle car and you get all the snap, crackle and pop sounds when ever you let off the throttle. I enjoy it, but it might be a little too much for daily driving if not trying to attract attention.
has anybody ever tried just the G pipe and everything else stock?

My Fabspeed Wastegate CAT-delete bypass made a slight difference upon WOT & dump situation,.. but not quite like I thought it would. Or at least it was not quite the "sound" I was hoping for. Let me explain further...
Prior to installing that bypass, I decided to take the car out with the wastegate CAT removed alltogether. I was surprised at the amount of hissing sound it made once the wastegate valve opened. No where near the sound I thought it would make. I am coming from the background of installing a QTP QTEC electric valve & Y pipe on my 1968 Chevy big block 396/375. It allows the dump of exhaust just after the headers, and OH MY GOODNESS it is loud. I use it when bracket racing at my local 1/4 mile strip, or any time I want to make a grand entrance or exit from our local "Lost in the 50's" muscle car club. It will literally rattle the windows in nearby homes,... not to mention the tingling/itchiness in your ear drums after a few pulls.
Anyway,.... that type of dump on a ol-skool v8 gives it a deep rumble, that I was hoping to assimilate, or at least get closer to, with the 964T engine. Not so. It only hisses more when dumping the over boost.
so to expand on the answer to your question,... I am running a GHL muffler, catless, crosspipe type exhaust on my car. I am not sure if my cross pipe is similar to a "FVD G pipe",... since I am not exactly clear on what a "G" pipe is.
Can I ask if you have a muffler in the back passenger side of your system? ... In other words, if your G pipe scenario has deleted any muffler you might have,... then that is probably the reason why you are getting such a nice growl under acceleration, and probably more let-off cracks & pops. I'm guessing at this point.
