Porsche approved the gas guage unit replacement ( Recall )
The gas gauge needle in my 1991 965 Turbo had just started acting weird so i brought the car to the dealership to see what's going on ? Anyway found out that the "Gas sending unit " in the gas tank was bad along with the gas gauge ?
Today i got a call from the service manager stating that there was a recall on the gas gauge needle/cluster few years ago ( he thinks back in 1993/1994 ) and that the part ( $450 ) would be free of any charge to me.
To say i'm happy would be an understatement.I'm really delighted that Porsche considered my car for this recall even after all those years.
So has anyone heard/had any problems with their " gas guage needles" and " the Gas sending units" in the Gas tank ? Btw there was a service bulletin out regading the Gas sending unit as well and the dealer is replacing it with an updated one.

Yasir what were the symptoms.
Mine appears to be rather lazy. When I fill up the tank it reads only 50%. After a long while the gage begins to read full.
Is this what you are talking about?

At times it will go all the way to the full and at times it will read low.The day the car died on me i found out that i had actually ran out of gas and i thought the stupid guage was acting again.
Anyway call your local Porsche service dept and ask them if there's any recall/service bulletin out for your particular model.
