Default Car going in for mods and repair. Help

My '91 C2T is going to a shop for some tranny work (2nd gear missing, and gear popping out of 4th). I tried to diagnose the problem with no luck as I am new to this kind of problem. I have drained the trans oil, but found nothing.

While I have the engine/tranny out, I would like to do additional upgrade.
So far I have thought of:
1. Valve adjustment,
2. Clutch (lightweight or not),
3. GLH Header
4. Oil leak

I plan on driving the car for street driving mostly, with some DE.
Anything else I should consider while the engine is out?

Thanks in advance.

While your in the tranny you might want to swap out the turbo gears (2-5) for the C2 gears. I am in the process of doing this right now. The acceleration is amazing! Its like adding 50 hp to the wheels in the lower gears. Very quick. I decided not to go with a lightweight flywheel but it would be a good time to look at the clutch/disc. If you are still running the air pump, check the operation and change the belt. Get the oil leaks and valve adjustments done.

50HP to the wheels? Great!
Where can I get these gears? Also, are these rated for Turbos as well?

John,
He meant " felt like 50 hp to the wheels "

Still that sounds pretty good to me. I suppose what you gain in the lower gears will be lost in the top speed, but I am not planning on driving at 150 MPH any time soon. Anyone else have experience with changing out gear ratio in the C2 Turbo?

Thanks again.

This should be similar to what we ( 993 guys) have with our stock US boxes. I changed my box to the Euro spec only 993 box which has shorter gearing and yes it "feels" like an additional 50HP... It makes amazing difference as the engine with the shorter gearing is on torque all the time and the car is for sure faster accelerating than a stock US 993...
Another mod for my 993 which makes a difference is the LWF and RS clutch. Combine clutch,FW and tranny made a hugely different 911...

I changed out my gear ratios when I went to the LWF in my 3.6T. They made a HUGE difference on the track. The car was much better at staying in the proper power bands and boost ranges for the turbo. I modified 2-5. If fifth at redline I was at 173 MPH. Can't remember the exact ratios anymore. AWESOME mod though....
