man, you guys are making me tear up. and I am being serious. Not only have all those times together been VERY memorable (some even poor decisions on my part, like seeing how much torque a F250 has on the Amelia Island strip,... and destroying all the beer we had just bought & threw in the bed. Ooops!! ... or even trying to keep up with them, red wine drinking with Cobalt & BB1. Almost lost BB1 over the concrete edge & into a hot tub. Damn he just DISAPPEARED!! ... hmmmm and even a most recent questionable decision when attempting to lift the BBoys car up onto some display ramps. I am VERY happy that car looked at us & said "enough is enough man. ... put me down").....
anyway,... I sit here, at a remote cabin in the heart of PA (Spring Mills), yearly family reunion (wife's side),... coffee house music permeating all 3 floors (yes it's a big cabin on top of a Mtn, and easily sleeps all our 28 family members). ... kids playing twister in the center great room,... & I decide I need to check in with you guys, maybe look at a few cool cars,.... as they cook up some really good smelling food,... I'm contemplating life. Your heart escapades Mike, and your challenges too Anthony,...have been on my mind a lot this past year, as I lost my 23 yr oid nephew back in June, and then just last week lost a very close friend of mine. Jeff was 46, married for 16 yrs with now 5 yr daughter, and 2 yr old son. I've known him for over 20 yrs, and back in the 90's it was an instant connection. Kinda like Cobalt & BB1. You just know it immediately when a "buddy" presents himself. Just good guys down to the core. Willing to drop everything & help a buddy out when needed. Jeff was like that too. 10 yrs younger than me, and single at the time,... but instant brothers. My two kids were both in his wedding too (he loved them like his own kids). Flower girl & ring bearer. Now my kids are mid twenties, and to see them both break down & ball-up onto the floor crying when we heard the news that Jeff had passed. Just breaks me heart in many ways. exactly one week before Christmas too. He was literally asleep at 3am in his bed, wife woke up to Jeff in a full seizure. Never recovered.
Sorry for pouring my heart out to you guys here. But I need to just bang on my keyboard.
Life can be short ,and without reason.
Hug & squeeze your loved ones,.. and drive your cars.... or even just look at them (cuz they are indeed "ART" too in my opinion....
Take care guys.
Talk to you soon,
=Steve
KW V3.
Also a new Guard GT2 Limited Slip Diff - original diff is shot and Guard says parts are hard to get or NLA.
Between these coilovers, new diff, tires and alignment - it will feel like a totally different car this year.
LMAO!! How did I miss this thread? I don't recall and have plausible deniability with no recollection of any such occurrences.
As far as the kitchen I don't want to get banned.
I actually received a CR-1 radio with all the bits in working condition a few days before Xmas and a few T-shirts. Otherwise the fun stuff comes in a few weeks with the letters MCS. My belated present to myself.
yea that picture is hilarious, and I do vaguely remember some of that day & evening. although I can't remember if I actually hit Cobalt on the head with that watermelon
... I definitely remember heaving my guts the next day.
Oh, and I did go back & find some of those kitchen pics,... and Cobalt is right,... we would get banned if any of that posted. BadBoys would be proud. So Mike, you are getting off SCOTT-FREE on that one my friend.
Hey speaking of BadBoys,... there is a old thread that Cobalt started, and you guys talked about the movie car adventures, etc. I FOUND IT,... and just posted in several of them. Go check them out (964 and 992 sub-forums)
Santa? ... Yea, he brought me cool exhaust bits for my GT3
Reviving this thread given that Mike started it (back in 2019). SO sad to report that we have lost Mike to glioblastoma (week ago)
It was a rough road this entire 2025 for Mike, but he was a trooper thru it all.
Man did Mike have some rough health roads thru the years (Heart surgery, 4 stints!, back in March 2017 when he was towing the Bad Boys car back from Amelia Island too)
I will miss him dearly, as I know many of you, our RL friends will as well.
His wife Debbie sent out the arrangements & asked that in leu of flowers, donations can be given to the Gioblastoma Foundation https://www.gbmfoundation.com/
So long for now my friend. I am quite certain we will all get back together for more antics, assuming we all eventually make to the big kids table upstairs.
Steve It was great seeing you again despite the sad reason. Mike will be missed, but the memories live on. Nobody could tell a story like Mike. I lived through the first sale you the second. We are dropping too quickly first Paul now Mike. Far too many others for me this season. I hate to see it happen especially the good ones.
^ Nice gift BTW. All i got was toys for my son and I to play with.
I have to admit these things are a blast (no pun intended) And matching car covers.
