DrJ,

I just have the ducts that go in the front bumper. I think there might be a fully ducted brake system but I think they were realy used to get more air to the oil coolers (the S had 2 oil coolers unless it had the AC option code I think). On my car it would be to the oil cooler & AC condenser.

Ian, that is the best signature quote ever. half the money on booze and cars, the other half I just wasted! Hilarious. Who says you guys on the other side of the the pond have no sense of humor.

Ian,

from the illustration below, which part are you referring to?

Removed by Adrian cause well you know why. I have already told Emilios. Copyright law allows 20% not 100% to be published in public.

Is it item 7 & 8 or item 14?

Best regards

7 , 8 = mesh ....... same on 930 and 965
14 = air duct ....... different between 930 and 965

as the intercooler is bigger on a turbo s and 965 , i take it the airduct is different , but is the mesh the same ? and how does it fit ?

Ian,

the airduct is definitely different between the 930 and the 965 due to the larger intecooler. The mesh is the same, but I don't really know if it's particularly difficult to fit.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.

Best regards

i typed wrong in the previous post .
i know the 930 and 965 air ducts are different , i have that info on pet .
what i meant to type was that the intercooler is bigger on a turbo s that a 965 !!!

so , does the turbo s still have an airduct ??
or just the grill ??

Yes Ian,

it has both.

I bought a secondhand turbo 3,6 S rear spoiler, complete with the engine cover, and everything was there in place - including mesh grille and air duct (which was in fact identical to my original airduct, so I'm pretty sure the airduct is the same). I think the turbo S intercooler has the same size / footprint as normal 965 turbo (when viewed from above) but believe the turbo S's could perhaps be deeper/higher.

Best regards

The Turbo S and Turbo 3.6 Flachbau (S) parts are not in the general parts catalogue under these model designations.
You need the special parts manuals which were issued for these 964s to the original owners. The Turbo S was issued by Porsche motorsports I am not sure who issued the Turbo 3.6 Flachbau (S).
However the intercooler for the Flachbau is part number 930 110 330 P3.
Ciao,

PS: I do not know what kind of intercooler was used on the 965. This was a twin turbo and only a few prototypes were built. Karl Ludvigsen covers this very well in his 2nd edition of Excellence was Expected.
