Default '90 Cup Car

Saw this '90 "Carrera Cup" at the High Plains track (eastern Colorado) on Sunday.

It held its own against some pretty nice late model GT3s, at least in the curves.

As an owner of a 964 Race car, I have seen another one like this at Sebring. Correct me if I am wrong, but I heard these are worth over $200k now., maybe closer to 300k. If that's the case, why in the world would you race it? Sell that thing and buy (5) normal 964's. Or buy one 964 race car and fund your racing habit for the next 4 years. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Very cool car and it's great to see it's still getting used on track. Patrick Long did a 2:22 with the car to set that PCA lap record at Sebring - that's moving.

It's a heavily campaigned race car, the chance of it having the original Euro rear bumper are slim to none.

Sorry no other pics. I have some video of the car on the track, but can't figure out how to upload to the forum (pic is clipped from the video, where the 964 was in process of briskly passing the Boxster). The engine bay looked very much like mine, but cleaner! Other than no AC, single fan/alternator pulley, heater blower delete, and headers it looked like any 964. I noted the rear glass braces as well. It was screwed into the roof (w/sunroof delete) and was nicely finished. The dash instruments was fairly stock, but the rest of the stock interior was gone.

re Video - best to upload the Vid to YTube then post link here (see link button) and RList will automatically insert the vid in your post

This was a keeper I had from COTA a few years ago. No other cars in the pack with it, but some good lean on that sweeper.

Great find on the video and pic! That car gets around pretty well for having a basically close to stock engine - 265hp. It helps that it only weighs 2,600 lb. But it does look slow when those RS Spyders and 962s speed by.
