Question Question: Stock cam profile for 964

I'm going to have my Carrera 4 a top end rebuilt, and would like to take this chance to change my camshafts back to stock spec. Since original parts are way too expensive ($2000+ a pair), I'm looking for either Web camshaft or Elgin.

Web camshaft told me this is the factory stock profile: Grind 40i/40e but I can't really confirm the data as it looks like there are many different ways to measure it. Can anyone help me to confirm this?

Thanks!

I would contact Steve Weiner at Rennsport Systems. He sold me my cams at a good price.

When I rebuilt my engine a few years ago I used a local, to me, cam grinder... Elgin Cams in Redwood City. They used my original cams and re-ground them to RS specs. I installed them with Aasco springs and titanium keepers and I've had them in the car for almost 40K miles and they're holding up fine... good mid-range and upper-range improvement. Can't recall the price, but at the time they were significantly less than what a new set costs. Probably not "race grade"... but certainly good enough for the street. Cheers!

one word of advise if you go with the stock profile set the cam timing at 1.4mm. Just had my engine resealed and changed the cam timing while at it. Engine runs fantastic with this setting.
