Stress on Spacers?
I was just wondering on the stress put on the spacers, my car is running with spacers on the rears they are 23mm spacers I had to put them because of the offset of the wheels, they were from a 993 wich have a wider body than my 964.
Has anyone had any problem from running spacers on the rears?
Thanks
ALEX

Dear Alex,
Views differ here so let me give you the official line.
The largest spacers approved by Porsche on a standard narrowbody 964 are 17mm. Here in Switzerland they use this as the approved limit as well. Scum bags!
The stress will be placed upon the studs in the spacers not the spacers themselves. The lever arm if you like is longer.
I do not believe that 23 mm will cause any problems in normal use just keep away from the Schweizer Polizei. One fellow Rennlister who lives in Switzerland has already been done for this. Pulled over by the Polizei. They seem to look for these things rather than doing what they should be doing.

Alex,
I have original spacers from Porsche, no problem installing them, and removing them. Just put on some cupper grease so they will not sit that tight if you want to remove them with service. Look on my service topic, and you see the spacers.
