Lightweight 964 wheels, Volk TE37, Fuchs, OZ Alleggerita
Could we discuss some of the lightweight options only for wheels?
I am currently using the new type Fuchs, which are pretty light but looking into the TE37's and OZ's. Not aware of many other options but would love to hear.
The Fuchs look good but have a sizing issue. They use large spacers in my C2 (with widened rear arches).
Is anybody successful running bigger than 285's on a narrow body? Or is that completely out of the question?
What are the best ET sizes for a 964, 8.5/9 front and 10.5/11 rear?

Found these weights in another thread:
OZ Alleggerita 18 x 8.5, 40 ET = 1234 lbs.
BBS LM 18 x 8.5 = 1576 lbs
BBS RS-GT 18 x 8.5 = 1573 lbs.
SSR GT3 18 x 8.5 = 1518 lbs.
TRM F2 18 x 8.5 = 1620 lbs.
Volk TE37 = 1521 lbs.

I would run 2 sets. OZ for the track when you're looking for absolute performance. Your Fuchs or some RUF for the street where looks can matter more than absolute performance.
OZ are not that pretty if you ask me

I keep hearing over and over again that the APEX ARC-8 are the ultimate cheap, lightweight, reliable track wheel. They look pretty good too...
Lots of the BMW guys use them on their track cars... especially the e46 spec racers. I personally love the OZ superleggeras on my track car. They're pretty bulletproof, look great and are lightweight.

The HRE R101's are going to be the lightest of the bunch. For your car we're talking mid-teens in regards to lbs per wheel.
And since they are completely custom you eliminate the need for spacers as the offsets are completely adjustable.

I have the O.Z. Alleggerita HLT, 18x11 and 18x8.5. I'm running 295/35 and 245/40 respectively. Narrow body, I'm pretty sure (base 2005 C2).
Sorry. I need to pay more attention. I thought this was 997 territory.

HRE engineers do 3D scans of all cars so that their engineers can examing the fitment specs and they can select the perfect offsets for the what the customer is looking to do (fender flush fitment, OEM fitment, slightly more aggressive than OEM fitnment, etc.)..

That may be true but OP was looking for most lightweight possible which these would definitely fit the bill. If weight was the #1 priority I'd say the HRE Classic 300 would be a better bet visually.
