Question Tip Gear indicator light out - bulb?

This is a strange one, and I couldn't find anything in a search for it either. Has anyone had their Tiptronic Gear Indicator light on the speedometer go out?

The light is not there when the car is on, and doesn't come on during driving or when moving changing gears.

The strange part, when I turn on the parking lights or headlights, the Gear Indicator light comes on perfectly.

Did they use a dual filament bulb on this light? Everything else seems to be working normally, so I don't think it can be anything other than a burnt out bulb.

How do you change this bulb?

Thanks for any help.

I had the same problem. Check the 7.5 amp fuse that controls the third brake light. That was my problem. I also changed the interior dome light fuse and bulb, but, I'm almost positive it was the same circuit as the "third" brake light. Try it.

I think you're right Dan. The overhead light did break the other night, and I just checked the fuse, and it is blown. Don't have a spare 7.5 amp handy, so I'll get one and see if that is it.

I knew someone would have had this happen before!

Thanks
