Hello all,
I'm a new paying member to this great place for information.
Family obligations have helped me decide to list my 1991 C2 Targa w/manual transmission sometime this week. I'm not sure how to list it. I'm not sure whether to list it auction ''style''or ''buy it now''. Mainly, I want to get a fair price for it, but I also want the buyer to get a fair deal. It is a really nice car, but like most older cars, it has its issues that I really don't have the time or energy to resolve. To make a long story short, I purchased this car in 2014 and have put maybe 1000 miles on it. With work, family, and being a parent I've basically lost interest in having things I don't need. It's basically taking up space in my garage.
Here are the good facts of the car.
1991 911 C2 Targa
Just over 60K original miles
Red with Black interior
No accidents
Clean Car Fax
Some records
Original Paint in good shape/some small dings & small scratches
Seats in fair/good shape
Everything works (that I know of)
New Koni Shocks & Struts
New black OZ 17 inch wheels
Original wheels go with it
Aftermarket Stereo
Original Radio go with it
Drives good, shifts great, nice strong clutch.
The issues include
Some small scratches and a couple of dings, nothing a good PDR guy couldn't fix.
Drivers Seat Belt receiver is broke. (I finally found a replacement, but haven't had time to get installed)
The power seat on driver side needs attention
The dashboard is vinyl and has that common rise on passenger side.
AC was charged after I bought it. Blew cold all summer. Most of the driving I did was the summer I purchased it. It sat basically all last summer and I drove it early in the fall and it was not blowing cold.
It leaks a little oil. I've had 4 air cooled 911's since I was 17, never had one that didn't leak.
Anyways...that's about all I can think of. I hope to list it in the next couple of days. Maybe tomorrow if I can get some pics of it.
Any advice would be of great help! Once again, I'm just wanting some advice on what should be a fair price. The market on 964's are so inconsistent and I see many priced very unrealistic. I don't see many Targas for sale so I'm confused. Thanks for reading.

List it in the classified section of this forum. There are many ads; read a bunch and copy the format you think is best. $45k is the number that comes to mind; expect potential buyers (once price is agreed to in principal) to request a pre purchase inspection at their expense.

What's the last part of the VIN? Curious as I also have a red/black '91 C2 Targa. Wonder if they're in the same "batch" as I found the one built after mine on eBay a year ago.

BTW most everything I look at is either crap with accident damage, needing extensive work or overpriced. I have seen a number of recent purchases that I had to give the owners some bad news about even after a PPI.

Thanks for all of the information. I took some extensive pics and they will be up by this evening. I will not have a lift available until later this week, so the undercarriage pics will come as soon as a lift comes available. I drove it for the first time in over a year today. It was a great drive. There is no car that compares to the 911 as a car that's truly a joy to drive. If I had to choose between driving my dad's Lambo or any 911, hands down, I'd take the 911. So simple, but yet you feel the greatness of a driver's car.
