Every 6 months or so, someone approaches me in parking lot or leaves one of these notes on my 911. Anyone else have the same experience?

Absolutely. I've had a couple. Same indefinite note... "if you ever decide to sell."

I'm sorry but I am absolutely guilty of both leaving notes on car and stopping by when garage open. Most of the time the garage will result in at least 30min conversation about said car and cars in general.

The 964 or 996, and which of the two attracts the most attention?
People come up to me all the time talking about the MG they once had back in college. These cars are very nostalgic.

If it was a coupe it would happen a lot more frequently

Yes, have been interrupted at dinner at home. Have been shouted at while driving. People like it. But I'm never ever ever selling it.

Yup someone called me to pull over and made me an offer last summer. Happens at least once a year, I guess.

yes,... happens almost every time I am out for a drive & pull in someplace to park.

The worst part is when I am coming OUT from whatever place I was at,.. and there is someone at the car waiting to ask me to sell..... THEN that same person leaves at the same time as me,... and ends up driving in the SAME direction as me. Towards my house!!

I swear when that happens I ALWAYS end up taking wrong turns & driving some whacky direction to get home.

Problem is when I take wrong turns, and SO DOES the person,... then it really gets me guessing.

creepy.

I wonder how many of these offers would really be serious. I had a guy make a similar verbal offer in a restaurant parking lot 1 day after purchasing my 964.

We had this happen to me to the first time we took the car out to lunch. today we had someone drive up next to us and incessantly ask what the worth of the car was and we had to kindly tell them that it wasn't for sale--literally like the second time we drove the car. I'm thinking this is how it will always be with the 964...

Just had it happen on Friday evening in my own driveway. I was getting ready to leave and a random person pulls in my driveway to ask if I was selling. I'm OK being approached when I'm out and about, but pulling into my driveway (which isn't exactly an open invitation with the fencing and trees along the front of the property) isn't something I am OK with.

95% of the time the offerors are the same people who drive around parking lots in McLean and Potomac offering to repair dents that arose mysteriously overnight. These are not "unsolicited offers."
