Default RS Magnesium Wheels

Hi all,

I wanted to ask the 964 experts on the current market value (USD) of RS Magnesium wheels?

I have 1.5 pairs (3 fronts and 3 rears) all professionally refinished at the same time. I purchased them from a fellow PCA member who was getting them from EU. I had them refinished about 10 years ago and never mounted, the thought was to install them on my then RS America (sold ).

Here's a pic of one of front wheels, the rest are in their boxes. I haven't decided what I'll do with them yet, would be great to get another RSA but prices are through the roof!

Your input is appreciated!

Jon

Jon I don't think the RSA had the magnesium wheels. I believe only the Euro RS did. That being said I believe are very rare and do fetch quite a bit. I'll wait for someone more experienced with these to comment on pricing.

RADONCulous, I'm aware the RSA didn't come with Magnesium's and why I had bought them for my RSA at the time. I know they're rare but how rare is the question :-)

Jon,

Typically, these fetch at least $10K/set in excellent condition.

More if they are perfect.

Did you have these inspected prior to refinish? Magnesium should be zyglo, magnaflux, Fluorescent die penetrant inspected (whatever you chose to call it) to make sure no cracks from impact occurred.

They do look nice and I agree $10k is not unreasonable. Interesting this is the first time a picture of the mag alloy was posted. Only 7 % aluminum?
