964 electrical problem
Hi,
My 964 refuses to start. Engine turns but doesn't fire. No fuel is getting to the engine, nor is there any electricity going to the spark plugs. It's also interesting to note that the instruments are dead (although illuminated when the lights are turned on)
Fueses 1 to 16, 35, 38 and 39 have power going through them. All other fuses have no power.
Any ideas or sugestions would be much welcomed.
Thanks in advance.

Three Wheelin'
Another easy check- the plastic connector to the flywheel sensor can disintegrate over time. It's behind the blower motor in the engine bay. If the ecu doesn't get a signal from that sensor, then it doesn't know that the engine is cranking.

motor is simple:
air
fuel
spark
you've noted you aren't getting fuel. So:
DME relay
Fuel pump
flywheel / reference sensor
grounds
relays in the chain
Fact you aren't getting spark and you aren't getting fuel to me says it's something with the communication of engine state back to the DME. Reference sensor or (pretty unlikely) the ECU.

You can check the condition of the flywheel/reference sensor by opening the DME relay under the drivers seat, and used a multimeter set to AC voltage, across pins 47 & 48 of the large plug. iT's supposed to read 3 volts. Voltage less than this would indicate a bad sensor or connection.
