Yes, I think we'd rather deploy than disable such safety devices. For all our sakes.

BTW, nice link!

Does anyone actually have GT3 seats in their 964 though?

Just to bring back to life a very old thread.

Whats involved in fitting Cobra Misano Seats into a 964. Are the rails easy enough to obtain from Cobra?

wouldn't it have been easier to just start a new thread? Or are the pics that compelling?

My car had Cobra Imola seats fitted when I bought it which I have since replaced. I think they were mounted on the standard runner with no modification but I am sure Cobra themselves could clarify for you.

I would definitely consider the Recaro alternatives, the Cobra seats are heavy and very broad in comparison and, in my opinion, do not work well in the narrow 964 cabin. I opted for fixed back Recaro Pole Positions (equivalent to the RS seat) which I am really pleased with.

Cheers James,

I need to sit in some Recaro PP seats. The ones I`ve seen in a 964 lookedf quite narrow and might be a tight squeeze for someone 6ft 1". I guess the Recaro seasts come in variing widths?

I am 6ft and fairly broad shouldered and the PP's are snug but comfortable. They do an XL size in the Profi SPG (the seat used in the Carrera Cup cars) which might suit:

If you are going to buy the Recaros, then I would avoid their standard mount and runners as these leave you sitting too high in the car. Southbound Trimmers produce a custom mount allowing you to sit much lower which will be better for your height especially with a helmet on track. It may also be worth chatting to them about seat options also.

I have standard with Recard SPG seats and fit well with a helmet on (Recaro mounts/sliders and I am 6'1", 180 lbs with 34" waist).

Cheers Marc, I need to work out how comfortable or uncomfortable the recaros are. The appeal of the Cobra Misano is they look quite comfie yet secure enough to keep you in place when cornering.
