Default DME relay - compatibility list

I am getting confused now.
I understood that it's better and safer to keep in the car a spare DME relay.
Fine. Got it.
Then... reading around, I understod that VW relay 53 is fully compatible.
So I was looking for the code of this relay 53. Easy task.
Relay 53 code: 141-951-253B
But...
then I found out that the DME relay from porsche has these two codes:
Old: 944.615.227.00
New: 993.615.227.01

But then... trying to build back the compatibility list I got lost

I am confused.

The 944 number was the original relay used in the 964, it has been superseded by the 993 part number.

the 993 615 135 00 number in your second link is for the brake booster.

Is the VW "53" relay a 100% fit?

There is also a new solid state relay that someone on here came up with or found. It can be order with a slight built in delay in firing to insure fuel pressure. Think that's right??

Funny.
I just checked the P/N on a spare DME that I have here at my desk.
It is 993.615.227.00.
I also run a generic VW/Audi relay 53 that I sourced for almost nothing on ebay.
