Default 964RS and CA

Just curious if A.) a euro 964RS would pass the sniffer for CA smog (as well as visual) and B.) whether the 25 year rule makes it feasible to import one into CA. From what I've read so far, the answer seems to be no, but does anyone know the facts?

Apologies if this has been covered, but a quick search did not reveal a quick answer.

Ok, I MAY be wrong here:

But I am pretty sure that while you could title one here, you won't be able to register it. Unless you go through a certification process with CARB. When that happens they certify the car, you get a sticker that is what is then scanned during bi-annual smog checks. While it may pass the sniffer (assuming it has functional cat it probably will), when you go to register it, the DMV or AA is going to look for the US EPA sticker with the 50 state / smog information. And well, this car won't have it. CA basically has it's own EPA and uses it's own rules as they were in place before the federal rules were put in place.

That said, other states you should be fine. TX, FL, MT, WY, etc.

GD this state!

What a pain. Perhaps an investment in a quality sticker printer would be in order.... I kid! I kid!.... or do I?...

Thank you for your input though.

Short answer to your question is YES, but we are talking about big money to pass CARB & CA sales tax. it's doable though
