Default What kind of hood is it?

Hi,

I bought a rear spoiler yesterday. It was sold as a 964 Turbo spoiler, but I quess, it is a 964 wing (because of the hight of the lip), mounted on a 930 hood. Is it right?

I checked the distance between the screws (for the hinges) and it is lower than the distance between the ones under my c2 hood.

So, is it a mix between 930 und 965?

Greetings from cold Germany

Connor

PS: and yes, it is for sale now

You have the 965 spoiler.

A lot of components going in to the 930 Turbo and 965 lid are the same with the exception of: air ducting, rubber rim (although similar to 930), lid top (930 had a black outline around the vents) and various rubber trim pieces.

Also, from what I can see you don't have the centre mounting point for backup light as well as the rear window wiper mounting bracket on the inside, which the 930 turbo had.

Thanks!
Andrew

BTW: adapter plates or 965 hinges are used to mount the lid. Also you will need the uprated 965 hood struts to lift the spoiler.

Thanks!

Andrew is correct. It is a 964 turbo lid and tail. They are similar as said and the rubber lip is not as tall as that of the 930. The light and shroud for the IC are also from a 964 vs 930. You need adapters to mount to a 964 same as the RSA lid and tail. These are NLA so you can make them from Aluminum or search to find them used if your lucky to find a factory set.

This is what they look like.

Puhhh, thanks a lot!

Are the adapter plates OEM? Never seen this before!

Greetings

PS: without the adapters it fits on 930, right?

My turbo is factory so the plates are original and used on the turbo and RSA. The lid is essentially a 930 lid with some minor changes if you are mounting this to any pre 964 it will bolt up no adapters needed. Essentially the RSA and 964 turbo used older parts.
