YaHoo's Wild *** Ride
Played hooky yesterday with a pair of 997.2s. We launched at 5:30 AM (for me, they left at three as they live on the Coast and had to head east) and had a random idea of where we were going. We ended up rocketing through twisty, N CA foothill & gold country then over tight and curvy Sonora Pass (9,623') dropping down to spectacular Hwy 395 to Mono Lake and the headed east on Hwy 120 for some crazy fast bumps where you lose your front wheels for what seems like an eternity.
Total blast with good buddies and the key ingredient, Porsches! Returned to my driveway @ 10:30 PM and 537 miles later. I'm ready to do it again today. The car hummed like a dream and showed the newer P Cars how to haul *** in the tight turns
On with the picture show-
Dawn in the foothills
Climbing Sonora Pass
Just over the pass
View of Mono Lake
Headed down the east side of the Sierra on Hwy 395.
Mono Lake
Yours truly checking out the performance of a 997.2. WOW, I was really impressed. Very fun and very fast.
Headed home.
Can we go again now?!

Yup, he liked it but it is only a '10 C4S. He was a bit incoherent as he stepped out of the pilot's seat saying something like he needed to get one of these. He was mumbling like a boy that just caught his 1st image of you-know-what!
Escort noticed this CHP following us for the roll up Conway Summit and The Man eventually turned around while rolling down the north side of the pass...nothing to see here!

Wow David- incredible shots- you have talent man!
While that CHP was a little pesky as it "escorted" us for a long stretch my favorite encounter was on a more remote section while driving fairly spirited the officer surprised us going the other way without his gun turned on. Turns out he was going the same speed we were and didn't blink and eye, again "nothing to see here sir."
