Default Rennline Drivers Floor Board RHD - Clutch Pedal

Builder sent me this pick. He says the clutch pedal interfers with the board on its sweep. I haven't seen it as the car isn't local.

One of our congregation has offered his view (thanks James!!), but just wanna see if anyone has experienced this interference first hand and what did you do about it?

Thanks

Pete

Hi,

I fitted the same to mine you just need to loose the footrest to stop it fouling the clutch pedal on the early cars.

Thanks Paul! I hope it's as easy as that. I didn't know if he was referring to the footrest or the hole in the floor board itself. I'll check. Thanks.

Ok, not quite so straight forward.

It's not the footrest in this case it's the floorboard that the pedal fouls on.

Now it could well be that the pedal is bent or non std. Any other thoughts or experiences?

I have no problems with my fitment at all. So something is just not right.

I wish I could take pictures for reference for you, but my car is not with me for another week.

Thanks for that Jeff. I think RHD and LHD are very different. Yours LHD, yeah?

Can anyone with RHD show us some more pics of the pedal travel through the board?

My mistake. Should have been clearer.

Still keen on hearing thoughts on this.

I think you have an early car? the rennline floorboard is for later cars where the clutch is in a different position to the early ones. search 993 pedal box upgrade and you will likely see a few pics of the difference. I have a rennline pedal board in an early car but did it as part of a 993 pedal box transplant.

Thanks Robert,

This is where Rephlex was heading when he heard my issue.

I'll have a look at 993 upgrade. Cheers.

easiest check, if your existing pedal board has the footrest between the clutch and brake pedal, its an early pedal box and won't fit. RHD pedal boxes were few and far between + expensive when I looked a few years ago, i doubt that has improved.

Hi,

Just to clear things up, my car is a 1990, so and early C2 car. It's also a RHD car.

The only issue I had was that I needed to remove the footrest on the Rennline pedal board (see pics above) I can only assume that Rennline have changed the pedal board in the last couple of years if your's still won't fit, or possibly they make 2 types.

It could be worth calling Rennline directly as I did when I ordered mine, which was primarily to see if they made a passenger side footrest (for RHD cars). They didn't so we made our own.

Cheers,
Paul
