RE-SET AIRBAG AND SEAT BELT LIGHTS
I have a great 1992 911 Cabriolet Carrera and my seat belt and airbag dash lights stay on all the time. How do I get them re set?

Answer is not so simple.
You need a "reader" that plugs into the port on the passenger side footwell. This can be a Bosch Hammer (very rare and expensive), Durametric (less expensive ~ $350), or Scantool (search "ToreB" for a kit). Any one will erase the code and turn off the lights!
HOWEVER, it will likely reappear in short order. Search this forum for "Clock Repair", as the main cause is cold solder joints on the instrument board!
....post your location....there may be a fellow Rennlister that has the reader.

Thanks all. This site is difficult for a beginner but I am learning. Going to take it to YES Automotive in Huntsvillle, Ala. They are great and have done a lot of work on it before. That is where I bought it. I live in Middle TN and couldn't find anyone with the tool except in Nashville.

LouZ is right, if you don't correct the fault that raised the code, it will only reappear in short order.
That said, while many have repaired poor solder joints in their clock's circuit board, that was not the problem with my C2. Rather, the problem was with a poor connection on one of the front crash sensors.
Hope this is of help,
.. Gregg
