Mine MY 91 964 twisted at the end just loosening the motor mount bolts

The removal of those nuts and the subsequent twisting of the carrier around the Z-axis has been the issue all along.

I have to say my motor mount were shot and could have contributed to the twisting it seems like a very weak part

How difficult is the install for the reinforced carrier? Thinking of picking one up along with stiffer mounts and hoping I can do this myself in the garage without a huge amount of effort.

It isn’t too difficult There is a caveat though I don’t remember if the AC bracket needs to come off first. If it does the engine pulley needs to come off. If that is the case modify the AC brackets before you put it back on. There is a slight raised area on the bracket you can grind off so in the future you can get AC bracket off without pulling the pulley. Support that end of the engine. I always have luck by googling the specific problem. 99.9% of the time it will bring you back to this site. I promise someone else has already did what you want to do
