Alex,

I think the C4 should weigh 1450kg when empty. 2.2lbs per Kg = 3190lbs. Note that this is only an estimate as fuel load & options added to car can increase weight etc!

Have your car weighed, that is the only way. My car for example weighs 1346kgs or 2975lbs (2.21lbs to the kg) with half a tank of gas in it. That is a lot less than the dry weight given by Porsche of 1380kgs for the C2. I don't have aircon though and there are other differences.

I would estimate 3300lbs with a fair amount of fuel for Alex, but the only way is to have it weighed. You must have a specialist with corner balance facility?

Yes, you're going to have to get your car weighed - it's the only way you will know for sure. My car Weights 1452Kg (3194 lbs) - with 1/2 tank, Cup pipe, Aircon and 17" 993 Targa wheels.

Ade, that's very good for a C4 with aircon. Especially as Porsche quote 1480kgs dry....or was it 1450kgs...

My car should be more or less the same C4 90 Cup pipe, Aircon and 17" 993 CupII wheels.

Anyway I´ll follow your advices and get the car weighed.

Thanks

THat's why I've been skipping lunch.....free mod to go faster....correction, it's a save money mod - spend less go faster.

Anyway what I've done is to do a baseline Gtech (on the competition model) and thereafters keep the weight the same regardless of weight changes in the car so I know what the hp/torque equivalent benefits some weight reduction mod makes eg. exhaust change.

Another dumb question (I think I'll change my name to reflect this perpetual state of ):

for those who don't own corner weights, where could you take your car for this service? J

Thanks, Jason. In fact I'll be asking Gerry (at EPE) to be doing a PPI, I hope.

So the answer to my question is that any good Porsche shop can weigh the car. Great. Thanhkx. J

Christer

is that 1346 kg with or without you in the car..............

1380 is the tiptronic dry weight BTW. Its 1350 for manual C2.

Are he pinstripe seats lighter or heavier than nice ones??

That's without me in the car, and was recorded at the last corner balancing I had done when I upgraded the suspension. If I had been in the car then the car would be down to RS weight already....which it is not!

finally heard your GHL exhaust video last night (a bit late I know!!) - very RS! It sounded like you didn't get near the redline though - I'd like to hear it at 6500 rpm.

Yes, it is very different but I like it, although it doesn't sound like any RS I have ever heard. The gear changes were made at between 4500-5000 or so. The 'flyby' was at around 5500 in 4th.

I'll see what I can do get some clips done at 6000-6800rpms as well, I just need to get JZ Machtech to fix something on the exhaust that they caused last time I was there (inadvertently). It is blowing slightly through one of the clamps on the LHS as you look at the car from the rear.

I will be at JZM on Saturday 0900hrs if anyone else is going?
