Default 993FEST 2016 is now 8998FEST-Save the Date September 16-18,2016

As you all know, I have put together 993FEST for the past 4 years. It has been an amazing time and I have enjoyed getting to know each and every participant! This year I am mixing it up and joining forces with a good friend and fellow 964 enthusiast, Brian Kawal (964surfer). Together we are expanding the event and re-naming it 8998FEST and opening registration to both 993’s and 964’s. We are still working out the final details, but I wanted to get on everyone’s calendar. Here are the basics:

What: 8998FEST- A weekend long extravaganza of all things post torsion bar, air-cooled 911!

Events will include:
Driving- We will find some of the most amazing NW scenery and roads…
Technical- We will be offering technical education by a few of the best in the business…
Car Display- We will be offering a car show/display and have some early commitment for some seriously rare and unusual 964 and 993’s…
Social- We will have plenty of great food and drinks with some great people from this community…

When: September 16-18th, 2016

Where: Initial events starting in Portland, OR and culmination in Seattle, WA. In years past we have people attend from all over the US and even an international contingent.

Default UPDATE

The date will be September 17 and 18. This will be the new yearly event for all the 964 and 993 folks from the Pacific Northwest and beyond. We already have confirmation on some incredible cars being shipped in from further away as well! We have chosen a Portland to Seattle route to keep it more centralized for everyone coming.

Here is the basic event rundown:

Saturday morning (the 17th) we will be meeting in Portland, Oregon at the shop of Steve Weiner who is a well know air-cooled Porsche builder. He has graciously offered to give us a tour and show off some of the amazing projects he has going on. From there we will be doing a group drive up to Seattle via some 'driving enthusiast approved' roads. We will be doing a group lunch along the way and also a dinner in Seattle that evening. Sunday morning we will finish our weekend out with a group pre-meet and drive to the Carillion Point display which the PCA is hosting that day.

At this stage, we would like a rough tally on how many will be attending the event. We will be sending out one or two more updates on this as the drive gets closer but we want everyone to be able to get this on their calendars now. Your RSVP will help us coordinate with both Steve Weiner and the PCA organizers. At this point we don't have a set hotel in mind for out of state folks for Saturday night in Seattle. If you need a suggestion or help finding a place please let us know.

One last thing is that if you know a friend with a 964 or 993 that would like to attend please do not hesitate to extend an invitation. Also, if you would like to connect with Nathan and I as well as other participants on social we have created a Facebook page: "89.98 Fest" as well as an instagram account @8998fest

You can RSVP via DM, our social media pages or email at brian@briankawal.net

Cheers!

Brian

Default Over 25 cars signed up so far

Thanks to everyone who had rsvp'ed! So far we have a pretty even split between 993s and 964s. If you haven't yet and would like to attend please email me at brian@briankawal.net
Thanks!

Here are answers to a couple FAQ's:

1. We will be starting our tour in Portland Saturday morning for a tech session with Steve Weiner. The address and time will be sent out later this month.
2. We will end our day in Seattle.
3. Our route is still be being planned but it will be good!
Please feel free to DM or email me with any questions.
Cheers!
