FWIW i had a pair of OEM 7's, 8's and 9's for my MY93 964. On the advice of Steve at Rennsport he recommended using the 7/9 combo for street and 8/9 combo for track. I went with the street option. The 9's utilize a small spacer. The fit, look and performance is perfect in my book. Car is lowered to Euro height but not slammed.

Indeed this is Gib's car. Very well set up and sorted with lots of upgrades. I am certainly the beneficiary of all his hard work.

Now continuing to provide additional TLC. : )

Nothing inherently wrong with "factory for factory's sake", but what are you really getting for your $1200-1500 per corner oem wheels?

weighed by me:
7.5 MM 24.6lbs
9.0 MM 27.0lbs
9.0 Borbet 29.0lbs

weighed by the internet:
7.0 oem 20.5lbs
7.5 oem 23.4lbs +10-12mm spacer and longer studs
8.0 oem 22.0-23.4lbs
9.0 oem 26.0lbs
9.5 oem 27.6lbs +13-15mm spacer and longer studs

So you gain, at most, 1lb per corner if you use the same sizes. Besides the design difference (eye of the beholder), has anyone seen or heard of any genuine or replica cup 1s failing? No wrong answer, but I could think of better ways to spend the dough.

To answer an earlier OP question- yes, the FVD replicas are Mille Miglia. Rhonda at FVD can also be friendly with discounts.

What, Gib sold his 964?! I know he has other cars too... Must have bought something really special as a replacement?

Do they have the offset numbers on the outside face of the wheel like the originals?

I didn't ask that question. I only asked if they were Genuine.
