Thanks guys, couldn't have finished the lens upgrades without the information you've posted.

Just a thought - with people considering the legality of non-amber bulbs - you do realise that you can get 'silver' bulbs which are are amber when lit, don't you?

Really John? I thought they flash like the camera strobes..................The "silver bulbs" are already on order.

There is a link earlier in the thread to buy the silvered/amber bulbs provided by Peter:

http://www.performanceproducts.com/...;producttype=10 (The US replacement bulbs are 1157 twist mounts)

- I ordered mine and am awaiting delivery!

BTW, Great pics JB - your paint is beautiful - has it ever been resprayed? Oh! And on another note, do you have more info on the little hood/bonnet straightening task you set me (like a pic!)??? :-)

Here you go, Howard...

Front and rear lids each have a pair of these buffers which screw in and out on a coarse thread. Of course, you might then find you have to reposition the latch slightly. And then one thing leads to another and after you've split your head open on the latch 'hook' you wish you'd never bothered!

BTW, nearly all the paint is original, but I'm afraid is doesn't look quite as good as the pics make it seem.

Thanks John! After examination it appears my hood lid is maybe 2mm higher on the right handside (seen in the picture) - I'll try this tonight and see what effect it has! Thanks for the picture - I thought you had originally meant the corners at the hinge!

BTW, my replacement handbrake sensor arrived, however I have ordered a replacement boot for my shifter and some new center console trim so once that all arrives I'll be revisiting the wobbly handbrake syndrome!

Cheers,

I went to order the silver/orange bulbs. They had the larger bayonet mount but did not have the smaller waffle base side bulb. Any suggestions.

Not sure I know the difference!! Does this mean the 1157 twist mounts I ordered are not correct?

The 1157 work on the turn signal, but the smaller side marker bulbs that fit into the rear lens are the waffle (can't access the website with the wireless at home So I don't know the number, I think it is like 113) mount. Similar in size to the side markers John shows mounted on the fenders. Johns car doesn't use them US models only I believe.

Your OK for the fronts.

Howard, 1157 twist mounts are for the turn signals. The waffle base bulbs are for the side parking lights. I've not located silver/amber bulbs for those yet.

Gotcha!! My car doesn't have side markers so nothing for me to worry about! Thanks for the reassurance fellas!
