Pedal Cluster Project

Hey. Call me tomorrow. Missed your call today. We can talk about the bolt vs rollpin thing.
I'm pretty sure I figured out why we are all breaking the rollpins. So use that and I'll talk you through the setup in the car so you don't break the pins.
Good job on the powder coat. I wanted to do that w mine as well...but didn't. Yet.
Can't wait to install the bronze bushings in the accelerator pedal.

Curious to hear your thoughts on the roll pins breaking, please share.....

Where do you source bronze bearings? I've got a set of plastics to go in.
And second on the roll pin ideas.

But on my mine, the hole in the clutch pedal for the roll pin to go through it worn out. It's actually oval which explains the slack I had prior to taking the cluster apart. So I'm going to have to figure out how to solve this problem.
I could have the hole welded and then drill it to 6mmm or just bore out the hole to a larger size. Probably something SAE as 7mm is pretty uncommon and SAE bolts are plentiful. I'm glad I figured out my issue though.

Don't go with a soft SAE bolt - make sure you get as hard a bolt as you can - get a bolt with at least 6 slashed on the head - this is a SAE 8 hardness with high carbon structure (don't use No slashes or 3 Slashes)

Right on!
Yeah, just trying to figure out the size I need. I think 1/4 or 5/16 would work. I need to measure that hole again to see what the wides diameter is.
I would rather be in the garage right now than my office. I hate having unfinished projects LOL!
One of my friends suggested JB weld. Hmmm...think it would be strong enough? Drilling it out seems pretty easy though. I have a drill press.

A little more progress made yesterday. A forgot to order the nylon nut for the brake switch and looks like I need a new bushing where the brake pedal meets the master. So like like $5 in parts keeping this from being done. Also installed a new clutch master and I'm also installing a braided hose on the clutch slave.
