Anyone have a drilled airbox they don't need?
Looking for a drilled airbox for the coupe. Don't want to wreck the stock one. Anyone have one they are not using and they want to sell? The coupe has a cup pipe and throwing on the cat bypass tomorrow. I want to replicate the sound of my Targa and will need a drilled box to accomplish that. Oh, and a black deck lid without spoiler would be great also.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I visited LAdismantler's few weeks ago for open house ... I wanted to get a feel of inventory and pricing .. I had a chap price an item and his process was look it up on Atlanta Porsche for full price and said it would sell for half that ? Not sure I liked the logic, 24 yo item for 1/2 price , how about 20cents on dollar? I asked another chap about power window switches as I saw a bunch laying around, outside in open air, inside, etc. He said $20.00? I said, they go online for 15.00 new, these are 20 years old? His reply, we need to make something...?
If you need sway bars, saw bin outside, 100's ... Plenty of air boxes, sold as full box only, 1/2 price of new for $200.00... No thanks....

I agree. LA Dismantler is a rip off. I have cashmere beige power seats with heat and I am converting my interior to black. They had the same set of seats in black in similar condition. I asked how much would I have pay for a trade in. The price they wanted for the seats alone was $1999 and they said with a trade in they wanted $1799. wtf. Are beige seats that much of less value? I am gonna either reupholster or just get some recaro pps. I have found so many parts (trim) cheaper new than used online.

I had an interesting conversation with Autobahn Dismantlers today who are close to San Diego.
It seems like they have a deal with Singer for all the unused bits that Singer doesn't want from all the 964's they convert.
I'm willing to bet they would have an airbox.
Their prices seem OK too.

Thanks for the heads up Simon. I just want a cheap cover. One that has already been molested or missing a tab. As far as L.A. Dismantle, when I was a new 964 owner and quiet naive, I bought a few things. Now I know better. They are a complete rip off. Have you seen the cab roller on eBay they want 15k for or something like that? unreal. eBay has perfect condition air boxes for $200. I will just keep searching for a beat up cover I can drill for a few bucks. Can always duct tape the filter in place as a drilled cover is about as effective. Ha.

once you have drilled, you will never go back, imho.
the cup pipe with the drilled box sounds incredible.
you do not have to overdo the drilling to get the effect. i believe mine has 6-8 nicely spaced 3/4 inch holes.

It's been highly debated but I'm still not sure if this "mod" sucks in hotter air. The factory snorkel tube has a difficult time getting cool air as is from the looks of it

Is this the only mod to stock setup you have, still have cat, primary, secondary ? Is Cup pipe same as G pipe?
