12 - 15 lbs for my use. As mentioned, always clamp the overflow tube. Remove as much old fluid in resivore and fill with new. No worries with air in the Motive lines. A great tool.

FWIW, I added a tire nipple to the Motiv, so I can pressurize with compressed air.

Do you have a drier on your compressed air, if not you may introduce more moisture than necessary into the reservoir and brake fluid. Just saying.

Removing the old hose isn't hard but it is a bit of a pain you have to remove the driver side fender liner. Getting that body plug in (the only real way is from the outside) is a test of patience. Removing the old one with the hole in it isn't too hard.

Look in my build thread First few pages you'll see some pics.
It would be a mistake to change to the vented cap on a c4.

It's also a mistake to bleed with the motive dry on a c4.

For a c2 either are fine.

Can you please elaborate? I'm well aware of the intricacies of bleeding the c4 system. Just not quite sure what you mean with the above statements though. Educate me!

The c4 needs the overflow on the resevoir.

And it's too easy to introduce air into the system when you bleed the bomb (particularly) if you are using the motive dry. It's possible to bleed the system with the motive dry, but difficult to not introduce air.

Gotcha...makes sense about the air, but why the need for the overflow on the C4?

I was looking for the thread where we discussed the possibility of the resevoir cracking on a c4 without the over flow...it's here somewhere.

The other issue, and one I have experience with is that when you have the resevoir even slightly above max, you blow fluid out the cap when you get on the brakes hard when the system is fully pressurized. And that sucks for the paint, especially when you don't know it's happening.

So. I had planned a while back on eventually getting to the tsb for the vented cap, but after blowing fluid all over someone else's c4, and then discussing over pressurizing the resevoir when it doesn't have the over flow tube, I'm sticking w the original system for mine.
