that style sport seat - G50/964 - is the best stock sport seat in my opinion. they look great and they hold you in place better than any other design. once you sat in an RSA, you pretty much stayed in that position until you got out - that cloth really grabbed you around the mid-section. very nice car - good luck with it.

Congrats, looks sharp!
Dual airbags were standard on all North American Porsche cars in 1990. So this car would either be a 1989 or some changes have been made to the interior prior to your ownership.

I was just as dubious as you. They checked it out during the PPI as well. The glovebox has always been a glovebox but the car originally came with a an airbag steering wheel as said by the PPI mechanic (with the tester). Perhaps it's because it is a Canadian spec 964 (which only was built in 1990 and also entails that the fog lights were factory wired as daytime running lights + the speedo is in kph only(which I will change myself))
Vehicles of the 944 series for the US and Canada have been equipped with the airbag system for the driver and front passenger since 1987. Since Model Year 1990 all models for the North American market have been fitted with the airbag as standard. From MY 1991 the airbag for the driver and front passenger for the driver and passenger will be available for left hand-drive models world wide (option extra M 562)
All Porsche Vehicles are fitted with an airbag system on the driver's and passenger side as standard equipment
It is possible that airbags were standard in the US as a non optional option like the sunroof and was different for the Canadian cars.
I will have to look for my scanned copy of the 90 Service technik manual to see what it says. But I am assuming this car came without a passenger air bag.

If indeed there was only a single airbag (which I've never heard of before) then my question is, why put an airbag knee pad and glove box if no passenger airbag is present. Something's up here. OP, don't mean to rain on your parade, just trying to get to the bottom of another quirkiness about our cars

It also has the correct side carpeting for this configuration. If you look at Spyerx's build he just installed the rennline lower dash and you can see how his carpet is not extended all the way up like this cars.

Thank you!
And no worries to those talking about the quirkiness of my airbag. In fact I embrace it! This is the reason why Rennlist is so great, we are a curious bunch for sure!
Here's a little nugget to help get to the bottom of this...

So today was a productive one. I took out the old alpine stereo and rewired and installed a new pioneer. But my greatest accomplishment was after many bandaid worthy cuts I was able to change the dial face from kph to mph (although I can no longer use the excuse "I have no idea how fast I was going officer").
