Default Spoiler deploy/ retract speeds

Considering having my spoiler control unit recalibrated to open and retract more appropriately for city and Southern California freeway stop and go diving. I was thinking about having it deploy somewhere in the 60-70 mph and retract in the 0-25 mph range.
Thoughts on the good specific speeds to deploy and retract ?

I would like the spoiler to go up when i start the car,

and go down when i switch off.

All of this up down action seems rather pointless to me!

Does anyone think it's possible?

That would be the way to go. Anyone know more about this?

Maybe with the Rennkit you can wire it that way , no more worrying about the hydraulics. Save the stock system in case you sell the car. I sent Dave an e-mail and I'm waiting to hear about the pricing now.

I modified my controller to raise the spoiler at 120kph and retract at 50kph. Simply replace resister values as per this link.. https://rennlist.com/forums/964-foru...estions-2.html

I followed the same link as Spokes. Set mine to go up at 60mph, down at the stock speed (9mph?). Only deploys for the highway really, and then stays up, so it’s effectively what you described (less for around town casual days). I like the clean look anyway.

A couple months ago I took my odo out and sent it out for repair. Apparently the spoiler not only actuates based upon vehicle speed, but actually gets that information from the speedometer itself. So with no speedo to guide it, the spoiler would deploy at speed, but wouldn't retract when speed dropped. I went to go pick up my son from school before all this social distancing, and when he came out to the car he remarked, "Oh, I see you've been speeding."

signal comes from the cluster ECU in the 996. Not sure for 964 or 993.

So if the speedo is not installed, why doesn't the spoiler come back down when vehicle speed drops below 6 mph (or whatever the threshold is)? Why doesn't the ECU tell the spoiler to retract?

is the whole cluster out, or just the speedo itself?

Just the speedo. Pulled the instrument out of the dash and dropped it off at NoHo Speedo (to fix the odometer, actually). With the speedo out, the spoiler would raise automatically, but wouldn't lower automatically. I had to use the dial on the dash lower it when I parked. When I reinstalled the speedometer, the spoiler returned to working as advertised.
