Default 964 - Needle orange color change

All,

I just changed my fuel gauge and realize that the orange needle color is slightly different. See picture. Any info on when did Porsche changed the orange type?

Looking forward to hear your explanation. Both part number are for 964's.

My car is a 1992 porsche 964 targa.

A

Just a guess, but is it just faded?

The original one looks like it's faded. I know you said you have a targa so maybe from more sun exposure. I bet my cab needels have faded as well.

Seriously? Haha. Yes faded. My CA cab gauges I put in my Boston targa were very faded. Thats all it is. If you hate it, send them off to Hollywood Spedo or Palo Alto speedometer.
