Default 89 rear defroster keeps popping its fuse

First time I used my defroster it seemed to work at first then stopped.
So I checked the switch and found the fuse in the engine bay. It was blown.
Replaced it and turned the defroster on again. Again, it blew the fuse.

How do I start in on this? Where should I start looking to figure out why it's popping the fuse?

Thanks!

I wouldn't have thought there is much to go wrong here really, how is your rear window seal? If it's shrunk at the corners and let a little water in this could have shorted it out. Just a guess from someone who struggles to wire a plug!

I found some decent (not Porsche) videos on YouTube that cover some basic troubleshooting. Hopefully they're applicable.
I'll post my results as soon as I'm done.
