Nice friend to snap those shots for you! I especially like the first one. Nice and close!

How does the ragtop C4 do in comparison to the other cars?

well, a cab will never have the same stiffness as a coupe, but the rollbar helps a bunch. I also added a front strut brace - and changed the rear sway bar. ...the net result is that I think it handles pretty darn well and we're usually competitive.

This weekend we just sucked @ss!

Turns out that I had misadjusted my brake bias valve and had way too much rear brake and nowhere enough front brake. Duh! I wish I had figured it out at the track, but thankfully I figured it out at home before things got dangerous.

Is the front of your car with white tape?

Yes Alex, that's tape. I don't tape the front of my car for autocross (as I don't plan on hitting any cones!), it was actually left over from my trip to Sebring on the 27-28th. (That trip where the alternator seized and snapped the fan off!) The car went into the shop still taped up, race tires and magnetic numbers still on - and that's the way I drove it home Friday afternoon from the shop! So when I went to the autocross on Saturday, it was still in "combat fatigues".

And living up to her namesake! With the brake bias off, the rear end was everywhere! I hit everything but the lottery Saturday morning!

I did a little more fine tuning on the brake bias this morning and I think I finally have it set back where it belongs. (at least with street pads in it!)

See what happens when you change too many things at once! You don't where to start fixing things - Is it the new tires? what about my tire pressures? is the brake bias screwed up? are my new track pads cold?

It was definitely a learning experience! See you at Moroso!

Anyone else noticed that nearly all of the cones are down in the last photo?

How did that happen then?

Oh, here we go again! Rob, those are directional cones--not the obstacle variety. They basically guide you around the circuit.

I was wondering, however, if anyone thought Terry's car might be demonstrating excessive lean. Excessive, IMHO, because it seems extreme enough to induce tire roll, which is not great for cornering.

Terry, if you're competitive with that setup, just imagine what you can do with some beefed up coilovers. At least consider a thicker front sway bar. That kind of roll has got to be killing your times.

BTW, great pics! Thanks for sharing.

Thanks Joey. btw, Angela, my partner, thought that "Joey Bagadonuts" was a p*ss-take of "John Boggiano"!

You're right Joey - I could really use a new coilover kit. I was thinking about the PSS9 system. My buddy Flying Finn in the 993 really hauls the mail with that system. I'm also looking at the new Moton remote resoiver coil over system! .....just got keep socking my pennies away. I'll probably do that next year. I want to "finish" my brake upgrade next and finish the rear axle.

My driving's improved a lot over the last year and I find myself competive despite all the roll. (Took home 3rd place this year in the PCA National autocross series - I3 division. Only something like 2/10ths from first place! )

I know there's a lot more room for improvement in my driving. I could spend a lot of money and still get my butt handed to me by better drivers in lesser cars.

Our regions chief driving instructor has a more or less stock (only seats and harnesses) 944 - and he can beat the pants off better cars all day long. ....another guy in our region autocrosses a stock mini cooper S - the only improvement he's made to the car is harnesses and Kuhmo's. He beats everyone!

The most telling factor of his skill is the difference between lap times. After his practice runs, his timed runs are only 100's apart! When your that consistent, you know you're good!

I was going to say something about suspension too but didn't want to since Terry knows it already!

Although I wouldn't go with Motons, they're not good (just kidding since they are better than PSS-9 which I have...).

But don't forget the monoballs and RS sways!
