At least it's pretty...

I'm kinda done with backdated 964s though. Really they should be left to old cars that need serious help. 964s are right the way they are.

With Singers recent success we are going to see allot more of these backdated clones popping up. I prefer them on the G series personally. The good news is that values of original 964 (coupe/manual) vehicles will keep on climbing.

I hate to say it but IMO that is the best backdate to date. I am not a fan of them but that is the most accurate looking by far. Most of them just don't quite do it this good. IMO it is worth every penny and a big to whoever built it.

Agreed. I prefer period correct vs back or forward dates but this thing was done with a nice eye and very good attention to detail. You'd be hard pressed to build they for what they are asking.

Its funny, in the 90s we saw a huge number of older cars here (especially pre 73) forward-dated to look like 964s...now everyone is backdating their 964s old!

That's nonsense.

Just because it's advertised for that, dosen't mean it sells for that...

Maybe not but you would be hard pressed to build one for less. There are a lot of details most backdated even Singer overlook because the little bits cost so much to do correctly. From what I can see most of the little details are expensive authentic pieces modified to work and they cost some $$$ and then the time to fit them properly. I would have to see it up close but this took time to build right.

I spoke to the dealer yesterday and I'm going to have a peek tomorrow. The price does seem a tad steep given there are some big ticket items not done: engine has has a "top end refresh" but otherwise standard, no apparent suspension work, brakes, exhaust etc.

Valid point cosmetically it is nicely done so I have no doubt someone will work out a price taking that into consideration.

Well I just had a look and it's certainly nicely done; a quality build by a very reputable shop. Interior is v nice except 996 door handles which look totally out of place. Knowing what mine cost to build, I still feel it is overpriced given the lack of work underneath i.e. engine, brakes, suspension. Having said that I won't be surprised at all if it sells at that price.
