What ended up being the solution with your cash wash no start story? Currently dealing with this exact scenario with my 94 turbo.

Turned out to be a few things all hitting at once.

Both coils went bad, my crank sensor failed and I had a failure in my ECU!
So, replaced both coils, and reference sensor and sent my ECU off to the Doctors.
All good now and doing great.

Word of advice, buy OEM or Porches parts whenever you can. The coils I was sent at first were bad.

Where did you sent the ECU?? I am tackling all this soon when I replace the transmission in my 964 and want to be ready for any problem I find... have all the parts but would like to have the ECU also checked.

Hi there, my ECU was sent off to ECU Doctors. Here's a link to their site.
They were quick and provided documentation as to what was found/done to my unit.
Now I have a nice sticker that says that their warranty will be voided if I remove said sticker.
