Default 1994 C2 Help-Price?

Hello everyone,

Let me first say that I apologize if this is the wrong area to ask this question and please understand that I have searched these forums for hours to try and answer this myself, but I am afraid that there are just too many variables for me to know for sure, so here is my dilemma:

I have a 1994 coupe, Silver Grey, C2, tiptronic with 80k miles on it. My Dad owned it originally, my mom got it in the divorce, and I bought it about 5 years ago. I have all the records and service from day 1, even the window sticker as my dad was very meticulous and kept diligent records. The car runs well and has always been taken care of. There are some scabs like the chrome wheels are flaking, the leather seats are cracked a little, and there is a broken spring on the sun roof, but overall it is in great condition and looks good.

I never planned on selling it, but lately we just don't drive it (except once a month to keep the oil and seals working good) and I was considering letting it go. Many people have asked me when they see it if it is for sale and I have always said no. Cool car, but maybe its time to free up the garage.
However, if I wanted to sell it, I have no idea how much it is worth and was considering putting it on Ebay to let the market decide.

Any chance the experts out there could give me some direction on what the car should be worth and if Ebay would work?

Thanks in advance!

Dino

Yeah, I tried that. Their are a lot of different listings in both the spreadsheet and the thread, but nothing that matches the 1994 C2 with tip. I have read many of the posts in that thread and others and it seems that the tiptronic lowers the price, the 1994 raises the price, and the prices have recently gone up, so it is not a good comparison when matched against the spreadsheet or thread as to where my car falls. Could be 30k, 40k, etc...

Look at sold/completed listings on E-Bay. 94 is a rare year to say the least but the Tip is a negative.
Good luck.

Address the issues, get it cleaned up nice. Vacuum the dog hair :-)
If 5spd probably mid 50s if well maintained and needs not much of anything
With a Tip? 40k probably

With chrome wheels and US ride height, my guess is the suspension is stock. While looks like a nice example, I'd say mid $35-37k range not knowing other factors like accident history/paint, deferred maintenance, interior condition.

To answer the OP's answer about Ebay, it is a good barometer of the market. Start the auction low ($5,000 for example); put a reserve at what you'd ideally want to sell it for (maybe $40,000) and a buy it now of just above (maybe $42,500). You'll know in a week what it's worth at a given point in time. Also cross post the Ebay link to Pelican classifieds for additional exposure.

Yeah my feeling in looking at these to buy recently is tip hits 10-15k. They sit and sit.
Wheels can get refinished proper Porsche silver.

35k sold tomorrow. 45k you'll have to deal with tire kickers and ppi's andvsell it in a month or two. Get it in top shape with no issues 55k if you wanna deal with all the low ball flipper offers and find someone who actually has the 55k 6 months.

There was a 93 with a tip and 92K miles on my local Craigslist from a dealer in Northern VA and they were asking just under $41K. Ad is still up after 3 weeks. Price is listed on dealer website. I have no affiliation with this car. Just passing the info along because I came across it while browsing CL.
