Default Bypass

I have decided to try a secondary muffler bypass on my 964. I'll appreciate any leads for reasonably priced bypass pipes. Beauty does not count.

Thanks.

Why not just buy one new? - they're not very expensive - fabspeed wants $325 for the secondary bypass pipe - www.fabspeed.com [no affiliation].

There's a place in the UK that sells them for around $180 US. I don't recall the name, but it should show up with a google search using "964 bypass pipe" or something similar.

I did. But as John mentioned, the pipe came from Type-911. Their price went up, though. It used to run GBP 89. To use one of R's favorite acronyms, "WTF?"

Oh well, it's a fun mod and certainly won't break the bank. Tell us how it goes.

Nope, I didn't. I'm pretty much done with the mods for this car. Trying to save up for the next P-car.

Yes, I guess it's still a very good deal. Some other vendors are looking for $230 to $350 for this little piece of tubing. Unbelievable!

Joey,

An observation since fitting my G-Pipe, is that occasionally, when I start her up, the resulting rumble/shock wave from the exhaust sets off nearby car alarms! Have you noticed this too?!!

No, not really. In an enclosed parking structure, I definitely feel the deeper rumble but I've yet to set off any car alarms.

Thanks for the info. I contacted the UK outfit. I know all about prices for Porsche parts, but $230+ seems like a lot for a piece of pipe that looks like it belongs under the bathroom sink.
