True for most private sellers but pretty much all specialists (trade sellers) are normally ok to export, alternatively there are shipping companies that handle everything - ie they pick up the car & paperwork and deliver to your destination.

Be very careful if importing cars from the UK. There are a few here in New Zealand as we have an active importing culture. On the whole we prefer not to touch them as cars coming from salted roads are generally rusty, often on places not easily seen. Unless the car has not driven on the winter roads its whole life there will be issues. These vehicles re-sell for much less than local cars. Of course i'm painting them all with the same brush but it is generally the way

Same thinking in HK too. Most UK importing cars here are generally rusty underneath. The re-sell are much lesser too.

Indeed rust is one of the reasons that I recommended a PPI but there are exceptions which fall in either of 2 categories, low mile cars that have spend their life being looked after and rarely seen any rain or salty roads or those that have been sorted (problem areas addressed & have had full glass-out respray).

Agreed. Can't paint all cars with the same brush. Plenty of good quality cars out there. Simply, important for the buyer to do extensive due deligence
