Cost of ownership comparison: 944 family to 964?
I have owned two cars in the 944 family over the past 12 years, a 924S that I have turned into a track only car and a 944 Turbo S which has been my daily driver (until Monday morning when I am selling it). I am very familiar with the strengths and weaknesses of the 944 family. I am also very familiar with what it costs to own and operate these cars. Are there any members out there who own both and can give me an idea of what the cost of ownership is for the 964 in comparison? I am considering getting a 964 but want to know what I am getting into. As I mentioned in another post, the 964 that I am looking at is a 93 with about 20K miles on it (so I assume no major repairs have been done for better or worse).
Thanks in advance for any wisdom.

Dear Alexander,
I own a 964 and a 944. There is no comparison, the 944 is much more expensive to own (just kidding). The 964 is cheaper to own than a 951.
You cannot compare the two. One is a front engined water pumper then other rear engined air cooled. The 964 uses many 944 parts by the way especially in the electrical area.
The 1993 model year 964 is a good buy. Chalk and cheese comparisons so if you want a 911 just get it.

PS: When it comes to purchasing autos of any kind. Never assume anything. You know that assuming makes an *** out of you and me.
