M&M headers and exhaust (FVD Brombacher sound version). No I haven't gotten the heat exchangers off yet, not looking forward to it... I sprayed the studs with PB Blaster on Sunday and today. I got some Kroil in the mail (varying opinions on this, but it has worked for me before when PB Blaster didn't so I'm going to put some of that on too). Hoping I won't have to drill studs out...

and they'll actually be big blacks.

how are the KW's tim?

Thank you. Tires are Yokohama S4.

You can always try a torch if you have access to one. From what I've read they work well with those stubborn bolts.

Brakes sound sweet. They'll be on my upgrade list eventually.

They're good! Been driving a bit more the past week and getting a better feel for the new suspension. Much more planted feel, cornering is very good. No complaints at all on them.

So, brakes are on the list, along with a fix for my spoiler, along with an A/C delete....

I hate PB blaster, but it does work. Just the smell of the stuff gets to me. Good luck on the work ahead. Tackling it this weekend?

A little wet sanding and some good paint and that spoiler would be good as new.

Sounds good about the KWs.

yeah mapp gas is my friend. When I put on my Moton's, pb blaster, mapp gas, 700ft/lb impact wrench wouldn't get one of the rear strut bolts off. finally got it off with repeated tightening and loosening with a huge breaker bar and pipe extension. unfortunately these header studs are much smaller and probably can't withstand all of that torque before breaking.

Yeah, I'd go the MAPP gas route if that PB blaster doesn't do the job.

i didn't make it to the zingerman's cars and coffee - the rain and football traffic discouraged me from going... but i got the exhaust on!

No broken exhaust studs and everything came apart pretty easily surprisingly. I guess spraying the bolts several times in the week prior was helpful (and maybe the low 50k mileage). Unfortunately the O2 sensor was pretty seized and most of the threads didn't remain intact so I will be replacing the sensor.

Brakes next weekend hopefully, then Gridlife @ Gingerman on Oct 3 (probably just spectating this time around).

Nice man!

Yeah ended up having to get a new 02 sensor too when I installed a car bypass. The old one would not budge and rounded off.

Still haven't tackled the heat exchanger bolts yet.

How's the exhaust sound?

AMAZING. i ran a secondary bypass for awhile and i liked that burble and low-pitched grunt. I added a primary bypass and loved the roar and the jealous looks and compliments from vintage muscle car owners. It was a bit on loud side, but it was still bearable - probably not for a long trip though. This is completely different as it's equal length. Burbles and roughness usually associated with the Subaru boxer engine are absent. The exhaust is very nicely tuned, it has a relatively quiet idle, NO drone - but it has a nice supercar-like scream. i did have to bend the engine tins a tad and remove the side shields to clear the headers.

did you use a bosch OEM sensor or Porsche OEM? i read possible problems with a "universal" sensor, but I don't know if that also applies to the Bosch OEM sensor so I might just spend the extra $ on the Porsche taxed one.
