Any feedback from people who have the fuel prime version for a 993? Should I get one or just the basic solid state version without fuel prime? I'm not quite sure which one to get. My current mechanical relay (2nd one now) is on the way out... car stalls at idle on cold start...

Does one need it? No. Is it good to have? Probably? Is it worth the extra cost? Can't answer that for you.
The non pump prime relay version would suffice but as with many things, we Porsche owners tend to obsess over and over-analyze things more than we should.

I have the pump prime version for my 944 turbo track car, where the restrictive fuel pump check valve has been removed from the system. It's a huge improvement for that car since all the fuel pressure drains back to 0 almost immediately.
I bought the regular solid state version for my 911, because if the rest of the system is 100%, it shouldn't really matter. Adding the pump prime feature certainly shouldn't hurt anything, and it would definitely help as a band aid if any parts of the system aren't perfect.

With the stock DME relay the fuel lines reach operating pressure before the engine hits 30 RPM when the injectors open so I am curious how this could be? The primed and non-primed version should make no difference to the 964 and 993?
