Default Oil Spray Question

Sorry if it has been asked before. What are your thoughts on oil spraying your 964?

Thanks for the help.

A bit more on the details surrounding your question would be helpful.

(Otherwise: INSIDE the engine -- spraying good! OUTSIDE the engine -- Bad.)

Was going to take it to one of the dripless oil spray places and have it done but was a little concerned that it was overkill.

Are you referring to spraying oil on the bottom of the car as an anti-rust prevention? If yes, I have a friend that does that to all of his work trucks. He says it works very well. My 964's get parked for the winter so I have not considered it for mine.

You're referring to a product like Waxoyl, quite popular in the UK for classic vehicles, Landys etc. but much less so in North America. I've read pros & cons on this topic, perhaps some of our friends across the pond will weigh in.

Haha. Not what I had in mind. Waxoyl was what I was thinking as was suggested by a friend from Scotland. Thanks.

Does anyone know a shop that does this outside the New York area. Preferably Connecticut.

Wow, are they still in business? Ziebart pretty much died-a-death here in the UK and EU after car manufacturers got there acts together. I had 3 new cars done over the years and had rust-through on 2 of them. If it's just for undercoating, probably OK but shouldn't make too much difference to Mr P's protection.

The factory sprayed cosmoline on every 964 that was sent to North America. Combined with the engine undertray and you should be fine.

You could try spraying the most critical parts but I would not have the entire car sprayed, its disgusting to work on afterwards.
