I'm surprised about that actually. I always assumed that the lack of roof affected cornering, but it never occured to me that it would affect straight line stability. Guess it makes sense though.

I too managed to coax mine up to an indicated 165mph (on a private road of course
) and it felt very solid and,it still had some more left in it. The fact that the passenger was on the phone to his mother at the time made it even better!! I suppose that if our cars can still get up to these silly speeds (many, like mine without rebuids) shows that our engines are still throwing out the HP in spades!!
