Someone needs to design a more robust 964/993 alarm system specifically for the LA market. The number of Pcar thefts going on in that area are NUTS!

Sorry to hear about your friend's loss, but odds are it's in a cargo container heading out to sea.

Unfortunately, that probably would do very little regarding theft preventions. This (and the rash of thefts a year or so ago) is most likely done by pros who show up with a flatbed and are gone before you even realize what is going on. Sorry to hear about the OP's friend misfortune.

When You you're not using the car, remove fuse 26 (fuel pump), DME relay and manually lock the steering. That will slow them down.

And if you can install outside super bright lights with sensors.

With a flatbed nothing slows them down

Has anyone heard about the early detection feature that Lo-Jack offers now? I'm just wondering if its only when the car is driven away or if it will also work if just moved away like on flatbed.

The LoJack® Stolen Vehicle Recovery System with Early Warning* functions through a simple keychain fob that communicates directly with the LoJack Unit installed inside your vehicle. If your car is driven and your keychain fob is not detected within the vehicle, you’ll receive an alert via text, email and/or phone call typically within 15-30 minutes depending on your coverage area

Just an example of how quick a flatbed can be from hook-up to driving away with your car in under 2 minutes.
