964 Widebody Kit?
Anyone know where I can find a widebody (a.k.a. Turbo-look) kit for a 964 Carrera 2? I can't seem to find one on the Internet anywhere... (Technically, just the fenders as my father plans to use an RS spoiler.)
Thanks!
Thanks!

There are many companies which offer such kits,
FVD, RUF, Techart, Gemballa. Just type in the names or check www.ruf-automobile.de or the USA site the same with FVD, www.fvd.de

Or go to http://www.gt-racing.com/ for light weight kits and tons of spoilers....reasonably priced too.

Ruf's Online Shop, sadly, didn't have any parts for the widebody kit (though they did have a bunch of other neat stuff). Techart and FVD I looked at yesterday and found nothing in, either. I hadn't thought of Gemballa, but their web page was just for the 996 and Boxster.
This page looks promising... except the 964 parts portion crashes Internet Explorer before it loads the PDF. I'll have to try it later.

Call Peter at Rennspeed Motorsport. 626-256-8878. He has a small shop in SoCal and is a really nice and knowledgeable guy who has been working on pre-993's for a while. He's got a beast of a Ruf 964.
He's a small shop so it may take a while to get a hold of him but his prices are good.
No affiliation, etc.

Bob,
Just be aware that GT racing's kits are either fiberglass or carbon fiber. Light but I dont know how crash worthy - others might want to comment.
It also changes the entire panel not weld-on a steel extension so fitting labor costs may be higher, not sure. But they sure have a wide choice.
FVD's site is a little anti-intuitive....you've got to go to the online catalog, aerodynamic, 964 link.....several click layers deep, plus a moderately long scroll before you get to it.

You really have to be careful when purchasing carbon fiber and fiberglass body parts for your Porsche. Most of the tuners mentioned above will sell you a piece that barely fits your car if at all and with an even lousier surface finish (especially some of the big-name tuners) You can end up spending a LOT of money having your bodyshop fix the piece. Also, more expensive is not always better; just look at the $100 price spread for white gauge faces between the 964 & 993 that some tuners charge.

(BTW, I'm just researching this right now. My father's buying a '80 911SC that's got a 930 Turbo-look but I'm telling him he should just spend a little more than this guy wants and get a '90 C2 then do the 964 Turbo-look to that.)
BTW, thanks all for the help!

So were you able to find yourself some adequate fenders and get them installed?
